About Sarah

Sarah first got a feel for hair when she began training for level one hair and beauty in 2012, she absolutely fell in love with the trade and industry, and after leaving school Sarah quickly completed both levels two and three in hairdressing apprenticeships. After having built up her salon experience and portfolio, she dreamt of opening her very own hair salon with a difference! Sarah now takes the next step in her career.

Sarah's vision was not of a normal salon based in the city centre- relying on a high turnover of walk-in clients- simply to cover city centre rent and rates. Sarah wanted her clients to be able to get the salon experience but without all the hassle! To spend time with them and build a lasting relationship that works, without having to pay the high prices usually associated with this level of personal hair stylist service. So with this in mind, Sarah and the team at Hazlewood Trailers set on making her entire salon go mobile.

Sarah loves to stay up to date with the constant change in our industry, taking courses for new hair design, in order to offer clients the best up and coming styles and techniques. Giving a complete experience that will leave you feeling cared for and special. Hopefully, the end result would be a happy, relaxed hair salon atmosphere for both staff and clients, where you know that you will get the highest standard service at reasonable prices.

our salon story

Whilst working in a large salon in a busy city centre, I was thinking about how far some of my clients travelled to see me in the salon for a get-away and a chat. There was no free parking nearby and the parking police were out in force! I did have a few clients mention this to me, as well as the busy city centre being loud with people, roadworks, fairs etc. It's not for everyone, so myself and the trusty team at Hazlewood Trailers got to work on a great alternative...I mean, what's better than a salon on wheels ay? It was strange idea, and I don't think anyone quite saw how hard it would be to build ourselves from the ground up, but we were determined!

After looking around for anything similar to what we were trying, which was hard, not many people have done this. So the team at Hazlewood Trailers began building my salon on wheels. It was quite daunting to begin with, looking at this metal frame and wondering how on earth that was ever supposed to become a salon. But as time went on and things progressed, my little salon slowly started taking form! I remember the first time I saw it with walls...yes; you did read correctly, it had no walls. I wasn't joking when I said we built it from the ground up ha! I mean it didnt have a roof yet. But somehow it all seemed more real now. It was a buzz watching as it all pieced together...you really do have to trust the process. I was so glad to such a supportive team working on this project with me, and due to the lockdowns in 2020 we all had more time to focus on the salon, not that it was a quick job by any means.

There was so much work to do, but we really came together on this one! The team at Hazlewood Trailers did an amazing job, and decorating my new space was so much fun. Sarah Rose Hair was born, the salon looked fabulous! I couldn't wait for my clients to see it, and to have their hair done in this quirky new space of mine.
